Framing of an Original Buffalo Bill Show Poster

The poster was treated for tears and folds by paper conservator Eileen Clancy. The poster was originally printed on three sheets, which were brought to DCGL for installation in the special order frame.

The three poster panels were laid out on a rag panel.

 

The panels are aligned.

The panel overlaps were prepared with a reversible adhesive.

The panel overlaps are tacked together with the reversible adhesive

 

Kozo paper hinges were mounted to the top edge of the panels.

The hanges are wrapped around the rag backing and adhered to the back side.

The poster hangs from the hingesso there is no pull and stress with temperature changes.

Final touchups are made before the glazing and spacers are installed.
